Introduction:
In the lower Wilderness, some Guthix druids have stumbled across a cavern. What could be inside? What is in there, and what exciting rewards could there be?

Requirements:
This mini-game is available to both F2P and P2P players. Players of any combat level can play this mini-game.
(Note: The higher your combat level the higher your chance of success is. A level 70 and below have small success of winning, unless placed against another 70 and below)

Recommendations:
A good, balanced account (Attack, Strength, Defence, etc.) A good Agility level is also recommended, as this mini-game involves lots of running.
A good weapon, and all 3 amour types are very useful. That will be explained later in this guide.

Location:
The mini-game Fist of Guthix is located in the lower wilderness. It's directly North of Varrock, and South of the Chaos Temple.
Caution: There might be Revenents around the Entrance! They are not to be underestimated!

Click on the Cave to Enter the cavern.

Information:
You will be in a large room.

To the West is where you just came in. Click on it to leave. To the East of the room is a bank. Next, you will notice in the North-East of the room there is a giant earwig named Fiara. Talk to Fiara, and she will tell you the basics of the Fist of Guthix.

Suggested Gear:
During Fist of Guthix you will probably encounter all three forms of attack: Melee, Range, and Magic. In doing so, you will need the right gear to protect upon these attacks, or you may need the gear to bonus YOUR attacks. Since this minigame is both f2p and p2p, we will be suggesting both styles.

F2p:
F2P players don't have much of a selection for armour choices, but there are two main choices: light armour, and heavy armour.

For light armour, bring Magic Armour (combat robes, wizards robes, etc.) and Range Armour (Green D-hide, Studded, etc.)

The advantages of light armour is that you can run longer, however you are more vulnerable to melee attacks.

Heavy armour, mainly full Rune, is good against melee attacks, but it will kill your energy. It's your choice.

The armour above is an f2p suggestion for magic defense, as many people will use that to freeze you or hit hard on you. For other armour suggestions refer to the list below.

- Rune Full Helm
- Rune platebody > Green d - hide body > Studded leather body
- Rune platelegs > Green d - hide chaps > Studded leather chaps
- Any cape and ring. Choose a necklace upon what combat style you are using.
- Any gloves and boots. Strongholds' gloves and boots are recommended.

P2p:
P2p has a wide selection of gear to use. However, we will only be suggesting the more commonly used or more higher level gear (approx. 80+)

The armour above is a decent choice to protect from mages and mage yourself while hunting. However, you will still want to know what to use when defending on meleers.

- Torags Helm - Helm of Neit - Ahrims Hood
- Torags Platebody > Fighter's Torso > Karil's Top > Ahrim's top
- Torags Platelegs > Karil's Skirt > Ahrim's Robeskirt
- Skill Cape > Obby Cape > Legend's Cape
- Warriors ring > Seers Ring > Archers ring
- Amulet of Fury > Amulet of Glory
- Dragon Boots > Rune Boots
- Barrows Gloves > Dragon Gloves > Rune Gloves > Other RFD Gloves

Starting:
Click on the opening East of Fiara to enter the Waiting Room. Remember that you can't bring food, potions, or teletabs.

Runes aren't needed, as the mini-game issues you some. This is a large room where you will stay before the game starts. If you are on a good world, the game should start in under a minute.

Arena:
The Arena is a circular-shaped cave. It is very large, and has many rocks for you to hide behind. There are stone dispensers located around the outside of the arena. Clicking on them will give you a Stone of Power. It will be explained later in the guide. In the center of the arena, there is the Fist of Guthix.

Around the Fist of Guthix, there are four houses. They can only be entered by the Hunted. Once inside, you will take damage every 5 seconds or so. Your opponent can't see you when you're inside the house! You will notice a portal in the middle of each house. It takes 20 charges to activate the portals. When you step into one, you are teleported either to another house, or near the Fist of Guthix.

Items:
Remember that these items won't replenish between rounds!

Elemental Runes

Elemental Runes are a replacement for the basic runes. (Fire, Air, Water, Earth) You start with 1000 Elemental Runes.

Catalytic Runes

Catalytic Runes act as a replacement for any non-elemental runes. (Mind, Chaos, Death, Blood, Nature, etc.) You start with 300 Catalytic Runes.

Bandages

Bandages heal 15-HP, and you start with 5 bandages.

Tele-Orb

The Tele-Orb teleports you to the center of the arena. You start with 1 tele-orb.

Game Play:
After being paired with another player (happens automatically) you will be teleported to the actual arena. After a short countdown, the game will start. There are two rounds, and you and your partner will take turns being the Hunter and the Hunted.

Hunted:
Your mission as the Hunted is fairly simple: to evade your hunter and survive as long as possible. After the countdown, run to the nearest Stone Dispenser and pick up a Stone of Power. The only way to get charges is to wield it. Wielding it takes both hands, so a shield won't be possible to equip. The closer you are to the Fist of Guthix (the center of the arena) the more charges you can get.

Hunter:
If you are the hunter, the box in the upper-right corner should say "Hunting: Player" When you are the hunter, your goal is simple: to hunt down and kill your target. Note that you have 1000 Elemental Runes and 300 Catalytic Runes.

Attack with any combat style you are confident with, and use the correct prayers if possible. Also, keep in mind that the Combat Triangle affects your result alot! Mage beats Melee beats Range beats Mage.

Strategies:

Hunted:
Strategy #1: Run to the very edge of the arena, and hide behind a statue or stone dispenser. When your Hunter comes, use your tele-orb. Then you can "Portal Hug". Portal Hugging is great, and if your opponent calls you a "noob", just ignore him and continue Portal Hugging. "Portal Hugging" is when you wait just outside of a house, and enter the house just as your Hunter is just about to attack you.

If your opponent is waiting for you to come out, teleport to another house. If he runs to another house, step out of the house. Repeat.

Strategy #2: Stay behind the rocks in the Northern part of the arena, the ones about 3/4 from the center to the edge. There are other hiding spots, but a basic rule is to stay within the 10-point range. When your Hunter comes, run behind a statue, and teleport to the center. Then you can "Portal Hug" continuously or "Portal Hug" once and then run back to the rocks where you hid before.

Strategy #3: Run to the center, and turn on the correct prayer and combat types when your Hunter does. Note: Only use this strategy if you are high-leveled and have good Mage, Defence, and Range levels.

Hunter:
Go to the center at the start of the game, and wait about 10-15 seconds. If your opponent doesn't come, run in a "sweep" around the arena, and attack your opponent. If your opponent is a "Portal Hugger", then run to the center when he goes in the house. If he steps out or teleports, then you should be able to see him on your mini-map. If he doesn't appear on your mini-map, run to each house, stay for about 3 seconds, and then run to the next house. Use the correct Prayers. If your opponent switches armour, switch with him.
Ex. You're maging him, and he switches to d-hide. Switch to melee and fight him.

If you are a member, bring Ahrims and Karils with you. Freeze your opponent, and DDS spec (dragon-dagger special attack) him.
If you aren't strong enough to wield barrows or Freeze them, just go with Maging the highest spell you can, and then bring out your best weapon. For armour suggestions go back to the gear suggestion part of this guide.

If you find you are losing a lot, remember:

practice makes perfect!
